June 4th!

Disconnect in water service for any past due balance is scheduled for today Thursday June 4th. If you have a past due balance, a $46.00 disconnect charge has been applied to your account. We will need payment in full by 3pm to restore water service by the end of the day. Any payment made after 3pm, water service will be restored the next day. Please contact the office after you have made a payment so your service can be reconnected.

Office will open June 1st to walk in customers

We would like to thank our customers for your patience during the Covid-19 Pandemic. We will resume normal business hours on Monday June 1st. If you are sick or have any symptoms please reframe from entering our office and utilize our drop slot, payment over the phone or online options.



Reminder to Sewer Customer located in Cedar Hills and Golden Holiday, Only Flush Toilet Paper 

Due to an increased demand and subsequent shortage of toilet paper as a result of COVID-19, Marion Utilities has seen an increase of non-flushable materials such as baby wipes, napkins and paper towels.

Marion Utilities Inc. asks that customer please pay extra attention to what you are flushing and remind you not to flush anything other than TOILET PAPER.

Flushing wipes (even those labeled “flushable”) and other non-toilet paper materials causes clogs, backups, equipment and pipe breakages, and in worse cases, can even force raw sewage back into customers’ homes.

Homeowners are responsible for any clogs of sanitary sewer lines from the point of connection at the sewer main, up to the customers’ homes.

Properly addressing this issue requires each of us to be extra mindful, pay close attention to what is being used in your home, and make sure you are only flushing toilet paper and properly disposing of all other materials.
As a reminder, the following products are NOT flushable and must be disposed of in a waste basket:
• Wet wipes/baby wipes (even those labeled as “flushable” wipes)
• Paper towels
• Napkins
• Kleenex and other tissues
• Diapers
• Feminine hygiene products

Customers that have septic tanks,

We advise you to take the same measures regarding flushing only TOILET PAPER. Over time flushing none flushable items can cause damage to your septic tank and my result in replacing your septic tank which can be costly.

MANDATORY WATER RESTRICTION FOR SOUTH WEST CUSTOMERS

Marion Utilities, Inc. is placing a mandatory water restriction in effect for customers located west of I-75. In order for us to provide customers with sufficient water pressure at their home, we would like to remind our customers to conserve water. Please make sure you are irrigating on set days implemented by Southwest Florida Water Management District. These restrictions are in effect year-round and can change if there is a water shortage.

Helpful tips for conserving water are; water only when your lawn needs it. It is time to water when your grass begins to look stressed or discolored. Don’t overwater! Too much watering can damage your lawn and promote the growth of weeds and fungus. Please do your part in helping to save the aquifer.

Lawn Watering Days and Times

Lawn watering is limited to twice per week for a half hour each area.

• Even addresses may water on Thursday and/or Sundays before 10am or after 4pm.

• Odd addresses may water on Wednesday and/or Saturdays before 10am or after 4pm.

• Locations without a discernible address, such as right-of-way and other common areas inside a subdivision, may water on Tuesday and/or Friday before 10am and 4pm.
